Increasing resilience through innovative and sustainable improvement of food security and livelihoods for returnees, IDPs and host communities in the western coastal areas of Yemen (DKH)/Hodeidah and Taiz:

The Achievement of the project as follow:

  • 2 community committees formed, composed of 50 individuals.
  • 825 households (5,775 beneficiaries) benefited from the distribution of productive assets.
  • 165 productive assets (boat, engine and accessories) were distributed.
  • Conducted 165 awareness sessions on how to use the grants.
  • Formation of 10 male microenterprise groups (50 beneficiaries).
  • Forming 12 small business groups for females (60 beneficiaries).
  • Training 50 beneficiaries on apprenticeship in engine and boat maintenance, entrepreneurship and marketing.
  • Training 60 female beneficiaries on weaving and maintenance of nets and sails, fish handling and preservation, entrepreneurship and marketing.
  • Sensitizing 1,920 fishermen on the causes of post-harvest loss.
  • Sensitizing 450 women on available financial resources and products.
  • 1,050 fishermen were sensitized about available financial resources and products.
