Gender & Social Peace Methodology

ADO considers gender essential in the areas of conflict, violence, and peacebuilding, as men, women, girls, boys, and gender minorities are affected by violence and peacebuilding. Abs Organization believes that women are the essence of life, and that if they are empowered, women will build a prosperous future. Social justice across gender classes means peace, progress, and prosperity.

Therefore, Abs Organization consistently strives to promote gender sensitivity, considering this a fundamental pillar of its work. Its starting point is gender analysis and its link to conflict and peacebuilding variables. These programs include the following:
Gender and Development Sector:
ADO works to promote social cohesion, peaceful coexistence, and resilience through the Gender and Development Sector. This sector links humanitarian and emergency work through mechanisms that enable the transition from emergency to recovery and peacebuilding.
This sector is one of the organization’s most important sectors, as it seeks to adapt the role of gender to find sustainable development solutions that promote peacebuilding. This is achieved by integrating food security, agriculture, health, and peace, alleviating community suffering and reducing reliance on humanitarian and emergency relief.

ADO advances its peacebuilding goals by strengthening the participation of women and women-led local organizations, enhancing social cohesion and peaceful coexistence. The organization also supports resilience, rights, social justice, community capacity building, natural resource systems, and governance, and has been promoting inclusive participation and governance within fragile communities affected by conflict and war since 2015.
Gender and Peace:
Gender and peace play a fundamental role in the development sector, addressing sensitive issues such as political, economic, educational, and social grievances.
