Integrated Healthcare Projects

A number of projects have been implemented by the organization over more than 29 years of community health services, the most prominent of which are:

Integrated Healthcare Project (Social Fund for Development)/Hajjah and Hodeidah (2005-2006):
The Integrated Healthcare Project, implemented in Hajjah and Hodeidah governorates with support from the Social Fund for Development, aimed to improve the quality of health services provided to the community and promote public health by providing comprehensive and integrated healthcare to the most vulnerable groups. This project benefited more than 2,500 people, contributing to the provision of basic health services, increasing health awareness, and building the capacity of local medical personnel.

Providing basic health services to 2,500 beneficiaries: Activities included providing medical care in clinics and health centers in the targeted areas. Beneficiaries received medical examinations and treatment for common diseases, contributing to improved health conditions.
Training of local health personnel for 25 beneficiaries: Medical personnel and health workers from local communities were trained in primary health care methods and effective diagnostic and treatment techniques, increasing their ability to provide sustainable health services to the community. Reproductive health support for 500 beneficiaries: Project activities included providing reproductive health and family planning services to women, along with necessary consultations and examinations, which contributed to improving women’s health and ensuring their access to the care they need.

Oxfam Reproductive Health Project/Hajjah and Hodeidah (2005-2006):
The activities of this project, implemented in Hodeidah and Hajjah, included the following:
Family planning services: Providing consultations and family planning methods, enabling individuals to choose the method that best suits their needs and health conditions.

Awareness about reproductive and sexual health: Providing educational information about sexual and reproductive health and the importance of reproductive care, in addition to raising awareness about the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.
Care during pregnancy and childbirth: This includes providing medical care to women during pregnancy to monitor the health of the mother and fetus, and providing appropriate care during childbirth to reduce health risks for the mother and child.

Postnatal services: Providing support and health care for the mother after childbirth, such as nutritional counseling, psychological care for mothers, and awareness of the importance of breastfeeding.
Adolescent and Youth Healthcare: Providing awareness sessions and programs specifically for youth on reproductive health and normal development, helping them make informed, healthy decisions.

Checking and Early Detection: These activities include regular screenings for reproductive health-related diseases, such as cervical and breast cancer, and sexually transmitted diseases (STIs), which aids in early diagnosis and effective treatment.
10 Sessions on Awareness and Education on Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Diseases: Implementing awareness campaigns on how to prevent STIs and providing necessary counseling to infected individuals to reduce transmission.

Reproductive Health Services for Men: Providing consultations and health checkups specifically for men, related to reproductive health, and raising awareness about their role in family reproductive health.
Mental Health Support: Providing psychosocial support to individuals experiencing health problems or reproductive challenges, whether for couples facing difficulties in conceiving or for those who have experienced loss or difficult childbirth.
These activities have contributed to improving maternal and child health, reducing disease incidence, and promoting health awareness. It has also empowered individuals to make informed health decisions, reduced deaths and health complications related to pregnancy and childbirth, and improved the quality of life for individuals and communities as a whole.
