Malaria Control and Mosquito Net Distribution Program (Ministry of Health – Medical Care Line)/Abs (2005-2008):

Distribution of treated mosquito nets: Insecticide-treated mosquito nets were distributed to 42,000 beneficiary families, providing effective protection against mosquito bites at night and reducing the risk of malaria.

Health awareness campaigns: Awareness sessions were organized in local communities on how to prevent malaria, the importance of using mosquito nets, and methods for reducing mosquito breeding sites, such as eliminating stagnant water and cleaning the surrounding environment.
Training on the proper use of mosquito nets: Demonstration workshops were conducted to train family members on how to use mosquito nets correctly, and how to maintain and clean them to ensure their long-term effectiveness.

Spraying of insecticides: Insecticides were sprayed in targeted areas to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and reduce the number of malaria-carrying insects, contributing to the protection of families and the wider community.

Malaria Screening and Treatment: The program provided free medical screening services to beneficiary families to detect malaria cases. Immediate treatment was provided to those infected, along with advice on necessary healthcare.

Awareness in Schools and Communities: The program included awareness-raising activities targeting schools and communities to raise awareness about the risks of malaria and the importance of prevention, helping to enhance knowledge among children, youth, and community members.
The program contributed to improving the health of the targeted communities by reducing malaria infection rates among beneficiary families.

The awareness-raising activities and training provided helped increase population awareness about the importance of prevention, leading to the creation of a health culture based on sustainable malaria prevention.
