Amidst Harsh Living Conditions, A Story of Resilience and Hope

Under extremely difficult living conditions, Abdul Fattah worked long hours in the private sector, barely managing to provide food for his family of nine children and their mother. They lived in a modest home lacking the basic necessities for a healthy life in Bani Hassan, Abs District. As the war intensified, their suffering deepened when Abdul Fattah lost his only source of income after the factory where he worked was shut down. Suddenly, he found himself unable to meet his family’s needs, forcing them to reduce their daily meals to just one meal per day, and at times, they had nothing at all, leaving them on the brink of starvation.

The tragedies did not stop there. One dreadful night, their area was subjected to indiscriminate shelling, targeting a nearby electricity building. Amidst the chaos, Hanane, his 12-year-old daughter, was injured, causing her eardrums to rupture and leading to complete hearing loss. Overwhelmed with despair and unable to afford treatment for his daughter, Abdul Fattah turned to the Abs Development Organization for Women and Children, desperately seeking help. The response was immediate.

Through a humanitarian partnership with UNICEF, Abs Organization fully covered the costs of Hanane’s medical treatment and surgery, restoring her hearing. This assistance was not just a medical intervention; it was a ray of hope that rekindled life within Abdul Fattah’s family, bringing back smiles and strength to continue their daily battle for survival and a better future for their children.
