In a significant boost to local education, the Al-Nasr and Al-Thawra schools have announced the successful completion of a remedial lessons program that has directly benefited 193 students. The program, which ran from February 22 to April 21, 2025, aimed to address a critical need identified in pre-test results, which showed a high percentage of students in the second and third grades struggling with core subjects.
According to the final report, an initial assessment revealed that roughly 80% of students had poor reading skills, 79% faced challenges in mathematics, and 80% required additional support in writing. In response, the remedial classes were launched, bringing together 99 students from Al-Thawra School and 94 from Al-Nasr School. The initiative, conducted outside of regular school hours, was led by a team of ten dedicated teachers nominated by the Ministry of Education, who received incentives for their tireless efforts.
In addition to the academic program, a series of hygiene awareness sessions were conducted for 2,317 individuals, surpassing the target of 2,040. The sessions, which took place during the second school semester, educated children, parents, and teachers on the importance of personal and environmental hygiene. The report noted that 2,077 children, 53 teachers, and 187 parents participated, with participants learning how to prevent diseases and use hygiene kits.
School administrations and the District Education Office collaborated to ensure the smooth implementation of both programs, with pre- and post-tests used to measure the academic improvements of the students. The results highlight the urgent need for such targeted interventions and underscore the positive impact of collaborative community and school-led initiatives.
